IFCB Requirements :

·        All Questions and Bids must be submitted using the on-line IFCB system. ·        Bidder must agree to participate in USF Program (AKA “E-rate”) for the corresponding funding year.

 

·        Please include the correct Service Provider Identification Number (SPIN) on your bid.

 

·        By submitting a bid, bidder certifies that the bidder does have a valid (non-red light status) SPIN for the E-rate program at the time of submission. Should the Applicant discover that the bidder is on red light status, or if the FCC classifies the bidder as on red-light status before work is performed and invoices are paid, the contract will be null and void and the applicant will have no payment obligations to the bidder.

 

·        Bidder is expected to provide the lowest corresponding price per E-rate rules.  See http://www.usac.org/sl/service-providers/step02/lowest-corresponding-price.aspx for details.

 

·        Contracts must not prohibit SPIN changes.

 

·        Bidder must agree to provide the Applicant the choice of discount methods (SPI or BEAR).

 

·        Bidder will be automatically disqualified if the District determines that the bidding company has offered any employee of the District any individual gift of more than $20 or gifts totaling more than $50 within a 12 month period.

 

·        All contracts awarded will be contingent upon E-rate funding and final board approval.  The applicant may choose to do all or part of the project upon funding notification.

 

·        All contracts awarded under this IFCB bidding process may be voluntarily renewed by the applicant, upon written notice to the provider, for five consecutive one year terms.

 

·        E-rate rules require applicants to evaluate the cost of eligible goods and services, and to cost-allocate out the amount for data plans and text messaging from their funding request. If your company will be bidding bundled data and voice plans, please identify the amount to be cost-allocated out for the ineligible data and text messaging functions.

Internet Access - Minimum 30Mb bandwidth. The terminating address for this circuit is 308 Dozier St., Callisburg, TX 76240. The area code and prefix are (940) 665.Applicant is considering upgrading and would like quotes for 30Mb, 50Mb, and 100Mb bandwidths.

Can you please confirm that the hub for the WAN connections is the Callisburg Admin building? We would build a private WAN for your district and deliver dedicated lit fiber pairs at the hub. No over subscription. Are you also requesting that the full aggregate bandwidth be delivered at the hub? For example, are you looking for three 1G handoffs at the hub? Also, what contract lengths are being considered? 5 and 10yr? Thanks in advance Gerry

Answer:
 Our handoff (hub site) is located at the high school.  We’re looking for 1gig between ces and chs and up to 1gig Internet pipe servicing both campuses from the NOC (hub).  I would recommend a three year contract term.

1. What is the connection requirement from the PoE switches to the IDF and MDF core switches? Fiber or copper? If fiber, will the district supply the SFP modules and install/configure the uplink from the core to the new switches? If fiber, what is the fiber requirements - SMF, MMF (OM3 or OM4)? 2. Will the district provide the fiber/patch cables for the uplink connection?

Answer:
 Minimum 1gig fiber and vendor will supply sfp, install and configure uplink.  Not sure on fiber and the district will not supply fiber/patch cables for uplink.

1. Does the district require the APs be mounted by the partner? 2. Are there existing APs to remove? If so, how many will need to be removed? Does the district require the partner to remove the existing APs or will the district elect to remove themselves? 3. Will the district reuse the same cable for the APs? If so, what is the category of copper being used?

Answer:
 APs need to be mounted by partner.  No existing APs to be removed.  Partner will need to installed minimum CAT5e for new APs.

Is customer looking for a monthly only cost or is there any consideration for any construction/capital cost?

Answer:
Of course we would rather just have a monthly charge but we will consider one-time installation charges.

Is it possible to use the towers that are already existing at the HS and ES?

Answer:
 Most likely no, the towers are not our property.

Are installation services being requested, or is this a hardware only request? Any specific brand of equipment being requested?

Answer:
 Installation required and Cisco or HP preferred

What is your current brand / model for your WAP's? Are these being replaced or are you adding these in addition to your existing WAP's? Regarding your Switches what is your current model and brand? Are these switches being replaced or adding in addition to your existing? Any Cable runs needed for any of the WAP's?

Answer:
 WAP brand is Meru AP320, AP320i and new aps will be an addition.  We will be replacing HP Procurve 2524, 2610 and 2650s.  Additional aps will require cable runs.

Is the four location WAN connection to use Layer 2 or Layer 3? If Layer 3, is the provider to supply the CPE router at each location?

Answer:
 We’ll utilize Layer 3 and provide the CPE router

On the 470 posting it says "THERE IS AN ADDITIONAL DOCUMENT ASSOCIATED WITH THIS 470" and points to this link. However, All I see is "Approx 25 access points and 6 PoE Switches" Can you link me to the excel/word doc?

Answer:
 There is no additional excel or word doc, all of the information available is on this IFCB.

Do you want cloud managed WAP's with annual fee, or controller based with no annual fee? What size switches do you want 24 port or 48 port?

 I will entertain both solutions.  48 port poe…

On the WAP's are you looking for AC capability or are you happy with ABGN version?

Answer:
 ABGN is fine

How many ports are needed for each of the 6 requested switches?
