E-rate rules require the applicants to evaluate the price of eligible goods and services that will be listed on the 471 application during the competitive bidding process. If the applicant discovers that fees, taxes or surcharges apply but are not listed on the bid (after the time of bid awards) those charges will be the responsibility of the bidding company.

Questions Received with Applicant Answers   ( Ask Questions? )

Pertaining to the UPS/Battery Backup: • Is there a specific VA rating required for the UPS system? If so, please specify (e.g. 1500VA): • Will the UPS hardware be mounted in a 2-post rack, 4-post rack, tower format, or mix? Please specify: • Is there a specific runtime requirement in the event of a power failure? If so, please specify: • Will the UPS hardware require network monitoring and management (i.e. require built-in NIC)? If so, please specify:

Answer:

2000VA or better on the VA rating.

2-post rack mount

10 minute runtime is preferred

Network monitoring and management is required so NIC needs to be included.

Is there existing fiber to the idf/mdf closets? will any of the cabling/network drops be out door? Will a diagram be uploaded with the idf and mdf closets marked? Will the diagram include switch locations?

Answer:

There is fiber between the MDF and the IDF closets. No drops will be outdoors.

I have attached diagrams with IDF and MDF locations. The Radware building is where the MDF is located. The Woodbine building is adjacent and all the IDF's have fiber back to the MDF. The MDF and IDF are where the switches are located.

The Callisburg Elementary School campus consists of two buildings, the Radware building and the Woodbine building.
