UPDATE 1/18/2016: BID AND QUESTION DEADLINES HAVE BEEN EXTENDED. NEW BID DEADLINE IS 2/19/2016.

UPDATE: 1/13/16: CAMPUS MAPS HAVE BEEN ADDED

UPDATE: 12/18 - WE HAD PREVIOUSLY LISTED THE WRONG ADDRESS FOR THE CURRENT PRIs. The correct addresses for the three PRIs are: 20950 Field Store Road, 1918 Key St, and 19010 Stokes Rd, Waller, TX 77484

Local Phone Service including 3 PRI circuits – 51 analog/POTS lines and 700 DID lines. E-rate rules require applicants to evaluate the cost of eligible goods and services, and to cost-allocate out the amount for ineligible services from their funding request. Waller currently has 3 PRI circuits that they would like to replace with SIP trunks. The PRIs are located at 20950 Field Store Road, 1918 Key St, and 19010 Stokes Rd, Waller (all are in Waller, TX 77484). The PRIs are in different LATAs and have different long distance service on each – for some we need to dial 9 to make a long distance call, for other PRIs those calls are not long distance. Whatever SIP solution the vendor proposes, it should not result in an increase in long distance costs for the districts. Vendors can bid solutions with one SIP trunk delivered to each location (for a total of 3), or vendors may bid one SIP trunk for all calls for all three locations. If you are bidding one SIP trunk you will need to make sure it is quoted to our hub location, 1918 Key Street, Waller, TX 77484. We are currently getting by with 3 PRIs so the maximum amount of simultaneous calls we would need would be 69. Please be sure to include long distance quote with your SIP trunk quote.

Please provide separate pricing for any installation, activation, or initial configuration. Please also provide separate pricing for any maintenance and technical support.  E-rate rules require applicants to evaluate the cost of eligible goods and services, and to cost-allocate out the amount for ineligible services from their funding request. Questions Received with Applicant Answers   ( Ask Questions? )

Who is your current WAP provider and is this an overhaul?

Answer:
 Aruba

Which brand of WAP are you interested in?

Answer:
 Aruba 225

1. Does this district currently have existing WiFi APs and Controllers installed in each location? 2. If yes to question 1, which named manufacturer's solution is in place? 3. Are current POE switches in place to support the new APs requested? 4. If no current POE switches in place, what named manufacturer switches are in place in the current LAN(s), per each location? 5. Will the District entertain a "managed WiFi" solution for a term -vs- a one time purchase?

Answer:
 1. Yes

2. aruba controller

3. Yes current Poe are in place combo between Cisco and HP

4. We want to manage our own with the controller here

5. We are not requesting managed wifi or MIBS on this IFCB/470.

The address 22014 Waller St does not come up in Waller, TX 77484. We found a similar address and want to verify if the "0" was a typo and this is the correct address, or if this is one that is not in our system already. Herman T Jones Elementary School 2214 Waller St Waller TX 77484

Answer:
Thank you for catching that. That address is incorrect and should be replaced wtih:
19010 Stokes Rd, Waller, TX 77484

Will you accept an Aruba equivalent for AP's or are you only accepting Aruba?

Answer:
We want Aruba, but E-rate rules require that we accept bids for functionally equivalent equipment. We may choose to award additional points to those vendors that bid the preferred solution.

Just verifying.... You want (1) Cat6 drop to each WAP? Waller HS has (30) Cat6 drops listed. Is that in addition to the 160 drops for the WAPS?

Answer:
That is in addition to the 30 drops. When you quote the 160 cable runs for he WAPs, please quote the install/cabling on a separate line item.

Q&As from walk-through?

Answer:

è    Will we consider other solutions?

Yes, we will if the solution proves to be the best for the district. It is up to you the sales rep to show us how your solution will be the best for Waller ISD

è    Will the solution be held here in this location?

Yes the controller will be at this location. We do not want AP’s that manage in the cloud.

è    Are you looking for 802.11 AC or BGN?

We are looking for the Aruba 225 or equal solution.

è    Are the 30 drops additional to the 160 you have listed?

yes

You are requesting 2 controllers at the HS and 1 controller at Jr. High. Is there a specific reason or need that requires the controllers to be outside of the data center? Is your existing controller located at your data center? Will any of the 541 APs be replacing existing APs or will they be in addition? How many more APs are expected to be added to the environment over the next 5 years? Are you interested in seeing options for wave 2 access points?
