Equipment will serve all four campuses – Elementary, Intermediate, Middle and High School. Approximately 200 rooms at four buildings for the wireless project and approximately 6 buildings/14 closets total for the switch project. Locations are already established and the fiber between the closets is in place.
The Gilmer ISD network backbone infrastructure needs to be upgraded. We intend to replace our backbone switches with faster switching equipment. We are currently on a 1 GB fiber connection between 6 locations. We would like to upgrade this to a 10 GB connection. This includes single-mode connections for 4 of the locations and multimode connections for the remaining two locations. Layer-3 switches need to be deployed. In addition, we require gigabit switches for our classroom connectivity. This would entail a total of approx. 960 ports. We also seek additional wireless access points for connectivity increase throughout our buildings. Total number of new WAP approx. 220. Approx. 2 cables per WAP. Approx 30 devices per WAP will be connected.
Additionally:
Approx 20 – 48 Port Switches
Approx 220 – WAP devices
Applicant would like different groups for access/security. For unauthorized devices/rogue access points, applicant would like to be able to identify and locate those devices with the ability to disable if desired. Bids for refurbished equipment will be accepted.
