Questions Received with Applicant Answers   ( Ask Questions? )

Does the district currently have aerohive wireless in place?

Answer:
Yes, were currently have Aerohive wireless in place throughout the district.

Do you want the hardware installed or just shipped/Delivered?

Answer:
The access points can be shipped, but the other materials (switches, etc.) will need to be installed.

How many years of Hivemanager service would you like quoted? Do you have a breakdown of the equipment placement per building so that it can be provided as requested on the bid?

Answer:
I would like a quote on both a yearly contract as well as a three year contract for Hivemanager services.  Here is a break down of the buildings and the equipment needed for each one.

Upper Elementary: 11 access points, 1 switch, and 1 transceiver

Lower Elementary:  6 access points, 1 switch, and 1 transceiver

High School:  14 access points, 1 switch, and 1 transceiver

Admin Building: 1 access point,1 switch, and 1 transceiver

Middle Elementary:  1 access point, 1 switch, and 1 transceiver

Cafeteria Building: 2 access points, 1 switch, and 1 transceiver

Do you require any installation services or will you be handling the installation and configuration of the switches with your staff?

Answer:
The access points will not need to be installed, as long as they are configured correctly before installation.  The other equipment will need to be installed (switches and transceivers).

I have 2 questions about this bid: 1. Would you accept partial bids on the Areohive wireless access points only? 2. Would you accept refurbished or manufacturer recertified product?

Answer:

We want bids for the entire project, not just parts of the project.

We do not want refurbished equipment.

1. what is the model number for the requested HP 24 port PoE switch? 2. With regards to the access points, please explain what is required for them to be 'correctly configured'? 3. What is involved in installing the switches and transceivers? Does this include pulling cable?

Answer:
 1.  We are not specifying a particular model; these are just requirements for brand and port number.

2. We are willing to physically replace the old access points for the new access points; literally take them out of the box and plug them in where the old ones were.  This is the part of the installation process that we can adequately handle.

3. No, there is no cable to be pulled.  Switches are being replaced; no new switches being installed.
