E-rate rules require the applicants to evaluate the price of eligible goods and services that will be listed on the 471 application during the competitive bidding process. Fees and surcharges that apply but are not listed on the bid will be the responsibility of the bidding company, should their bid be awarded.

Questions Received with Applicant Answers   ( Ask Questions? )

1. What are the optic type breakdowns on each campus? Single mode, Multi mode, etc. 2. Can you provide the switch quantity (or port count) by IDF as it was done for Sealy ES? 3. How many uplinks would you like to see per closet?

Answer:
 1.  We are multimode from each MDF to the campus IDFs and Single mode 1 Gig between Campuses.

Sealy ES -2 Single mode 1Gb LC LX Trans, 6 Multimode LC 10Gb  - Fiber Cable will be OM4

Sealy JH - 40 Multimode LC 10Gb  - Fiber cable will be OM4

     Sealy High - 40 Multimode LC 10Gb - Fiber cable is OM4

     Selman ES - 20 Multimode LC 10Gb  - Fiber cable is OM4

2.  I have broken this down into ports covered by ERate and not covered by ERate.  One recommendation I am considering is keeping the two types of devices on separate switches.  By my count mixing these devices on the same switch would decrease my switch count  only by 3 and cause me headaches in the future.  Also, my non ERate numbers are exaggerated until I have a full design plan for  Public Address system which is IP based.

Here is my port count per IDF for the Sealy ES  -   ERate ports are data or data/voice shared ports ,  Non ERate ports are (voice only ports, cameras,PA system, PA Accessories,  IP Clocks)

IDF 1   54 ERate,  51 non ERate

IDF2   64 ERate,   50 non ERate

IDF3    78 ERate,   70 non ERate

MDF    107 ERate,   89 non ERate

3.  Listed below are minimums:    Extra ports are nice when yrs down the road a port goes bad.  Uplink port should be an SFP+ port 10GB/1GB or multi-GB.

At Sealy ES we need three uplink ports for each IDF switch stack (3 stacks) and MDF needs two uplink ports 1Gb (multi-GB would be nice)  to other campuses

At Sealy JH we need two uplink ports per switch   and  MDF needs two uplink ports 1Gb (multi-GB would be nice)  to other campuses

At Selman ES we need two uplink ports per switch  and  MDF needs two uplink ports 1Gb (multi-GB would be nice) to other campuses

At Sealy HS we need two uplink ports per switch.

And the Sealy ES, Sealy JH, and Selman ES MDF closets need enough uplink ports to connect to the IDFs.

Looking to confirm that 939 Tiger Ln, Sealy, TX 77474 and 939 West St, Sealy, TX 77474 are the same address for this DIA connection for Sealy ISD.

Answer:
Yes they are the same address.

Can you provide the number of IDFs and switch count per campus? For example: Selma ES IDF 1 = 3 - 48 port switches IDF 2 = 4 - 48 port switches

Answer:
 HI John,

I hope this helps.    I hope this is a more thorough explanasion as far as quantity of items in each IDF.

switchport should provide at least 10/100/1Gb copper POE+ to the desktops and 1/10Gb SFP+ for the uplink.  We are 1Gb uplink now and hope this project will move us towards 10Gb.
