·        All contracts awarded will be contingent upon E-rate funding and final board approval.  The applicant may choose to do all or part of the project upon funding notification.
 
·        All contracts awarded under this IFCB bidding process may be voluntarily renewed by the applicant, upon written notice to the provider, for five consecutive one year terms. Please include this language in your final contract.
 
·        All applicable fees, surcharges, and taxes must be identified on the bid. E-rate rules require the applicants to evaluate the price of eligible goods and services that will be listed on the 471 application during the competitive bidding process. Fees and surcharges that apply but are not listed on the bid will be the responsibility of the bidding company, should their bid be awarded.
 
·        The winning vendor will be required to complete the USAC approved Item 21 template for the project within 7 working days after notification that the vendor has won the bid.

 The equipment in the MIBS section is for Managed Internal Broadband Services, which allows for maintenance and management of the district-owned equipment, we are not requesting new purchases or leases under MIBS.”

INTERNAL Connections It appears that Internet bandwidth was upgraded last year. What is the problem that is trying to be solved with the caching server? Is it for bandwidth purposes, online testing, managing software updates? If online testing, what platform is being used? In regards to switches, are you open to switch manufacturers other than Extreme if we match or exceed the specs of the models listed? In regards to WiFi, are the Ubiquiti APs being added to an existing Ubiquiti install, or is this a brand new WiFi network? If completely new install, are you open to other vendors? If it's an expansion, we understand the need to stay with compatible hardware. In regards UPS/Battery backups, the devices listed are a NAS and backup software. Firewall protection from outside and inside intrusion. All users accessing the network (lan and wan) must be multi factor identification as an active authorized district user/device. Current validation process can be made available under a non-disclosure agreement.

 Six racks are currently in place and need to be maintained. Switches and cabling are both part of the maintenance being requested.

 In regards to the drops, can floorplans be provided?

 We are requesting maintenance on the existing cabling and ongoing replacement when/as necessary.

 Can the type of cabling expected be provided: Cat 5e and some Cat 6

With a scope of work that includes 1000 drops, would it be possible to schedule a site visit?

Answer:
 The MIBS section is a request for maintenance/management of district-owned equipment. We are requesting maintenance on the existing cabling and ongoing maintenance when/as necessary. A visit for the winning vendor could be arranged at some point after the bid awards have been made.
