Questions Received with Applicant Answers   ( Ask Questions? )

Do you have a preference in make/model? What are you requesting that is listed as Antennas, Connectors and Related Components?

Answer:
Will need two switches Pro curve brand (or functional equivalent), 48 port Pro E.  We should not have listed the antennas or related components, do not bid these items.

Do you have specific part numbers for the Category 2 items? 1. Please describe the products requested in Category 2, Antennas, Connectors, and Related Components (Qty. 82 & 46). I'm trying to determine if these are wireless access points, or wall plates, etc. 2. Please specify the type of switch requested in Category 2. i.e. Are they 24 or 48 port, Layer 2, with PoE? 3. Please provide details regarding the racks in Category 2. i.e. Are they wall mount, lockable, etc.? What depth is required? 4. Please provide details regarding the type of cable required for Category 2. i.e. Do you want Cat. 5e or Cat. 6?

Answer:
Nothing in the way of antennas after all.  Will need two switches Pro curve brand (or functional equivalent), 48 port Pro E.  1 wall mount and 1 rack mount not lockable, depth-16 in.  We would like Cat 6 cable.

Will you need a controller? If so do you have a brand preference? Also, how many cabling drops do you need?

Answer:
No.  No controller needed.  Cabling drops= 64.

Do you have a preference in switch? What equipment are you looking for that is listed as Antennas, Connectors and Related? Wireless Access Points? Are you wanting just boxed cabling or cables installed?

Answer:
We would need two switches - Pro curve (or functional equivalent) brand.  Cabling needs to be installed.  We are no longer pursuing the cabling antennas, connectors and related equipment – vendors should not bid those items.

Hi Chris, My name is Justin Chisari, an Account Executive here at SHI. I’m reaching out to you today in regards to your form 470 application for E-Rate Category One services. We would like to bid for these services, as we work with 70+ providers and typically have the lowest rates in the industry. If you are not familiar with SHI we are a $7 Billion IT solutions provider that has been working with the public sector for over 25 years. Our SHI Connectivity Services Group is dedicated to providing you access to the best connectivity solutions and services in the industry at the lowest rates. Our team sources these connectivity services for our customers using the following business practices: • Vendor agnostic approach • Technical expertise • Comprehensive global and national reach • Free network analysis and design review • Hassle free provider negotiations In order to put together these proposals for you, we would first need to get on a call to review your requirements listed in the Form 470. What availability coming up would you have for a quick phone call to discuss? Best, Justin

Answer:
We are not discussing the project over the phone, if you have questions please submit them via the web site or attend one of the scheduled voluntary walk-throughs.

We are a hosted PBX provider and wanted to know if we can bid on the project without bidding the Internet circuit.

Answer:

We are not requesting hosted VOIP service.

Chris, We drove from Kansas city to the Sturgeon school walk through. The 470 stated 128 Wireless antennas and cabling. When we got there they only talked about needing a phone system and nothing about wireless? Can you please specify if they are just wanting a phone system or if they are actually wanting wireless cabling and access points?

Answer:
Thank you for your question. The district does not need wireless access points and the 470 did not request any wireless access points. We did request equipment in the category of “connectors, antennas and related components.” We are not requesting any access points or any cabling for wireless access points. We no longer need any of the connectors that we had originally anticipated needing for the phone system.

If a Hosted Phone system isn't to be included, is the current phone system networked connecting the Elementary/Middle School and High School so that all 21 phone lines can terminate at one location? If not, how many phone lines are at each address?

Answer:
No they do not all terminate at one location.  At the K-8 building there are approximately 41 phones and at the H.S. Building there are approximately 24 phones.

Will Cisco be an acceptable equivalent to the HP switches? What are the required specifications for the requested racks? (2 post, 4 post, 4 post cabinet rack, wall mount rack or wall mount cabinet, number of RU's required and required depth.)

Answer:
If the proposed Cisco solution is functionally equivalent to the HP switches requested, then yes. Wall mount rack, large enough to hold 1 of the switches.

The previous question was actually concerning phone lines (POTS) and not the actual phones themselves. How many of the 21 phone lines referenced are at the K-8 building and how many are at the HS?

Answer:
The 21 are at the H.S.
