Questions Received with Applicant Answers   ( Ask Questions? )

1. Can we schedule a web demo overview with the end user prior to onsite visits? 2. What is the district currently using for WLAN access points

Answer:
We are not interested in a webinar at this time. We currently use Zyxel access points which are very old.

Please provide your technical requirements for the firewall.

Answer:
Capable of handling a 1gb incoming circuit and 600+ simultaneous users

Walk-through questions?

Answer:
Q:  What are the student counts for each campus?

A:  High School 310, Middle School 214, Elementary 500

Q:  What is your current bandwidth?

A:  We have 1GB bandwidth.

Q:  Do you have enough ports or switches?

A:  Yes, we have enough.

• How many of the switches need to be stacked at each location? • Is internet connectivity for the district delivered solely to the High School? • What is the connectivity & bandwidth between locations to the High School? • What is the design decision responsible for specifying (2) firewall components at the High School, and an additional Firewall at the ECC? • For sites with connectivity back to the High School, can the Wireless Controller functionality be consolidated to a single unit placed therein? • How many of the switches need to be stacked at each location? • Will the new router or switch equipment need to be configured for interoperability with any existing/legacy hardware? o If so, please provide details regarding the existing environment including makes/models, Layer-1 connectivity, speeds, and VLAN design • Are wireless site surveys required prior to installation? • Will the new wireless equipment need to be configured for interoperability with any existing/legacy WiFi infrastructure? o If so, please provide details regarding the existing wireless environment including makes/models, mesh, Layer-1 connectivity, speeds, SSID and VLAN design, authentication, etc.

Answer:
All switches required to be stacked. Plan on Stacking all switches quoted together.

Actually we have Two DMARC locations in the Disrict one is in the HS Library and the other is located in the ECC Maint Closet

Almost all locations are connected via fiber some MM and some SM

This Question is unclear I can only assume they are referencing why we have 2 separate firewalls. Has to do solely with no connectivity between the ECC and the rest of the school We have near future plans to possibly build a new ECC therefore we are holding off any connectivity ventures at this point.

Yes a single controller is sufficient as long as it can handle the throughput

All switches required to be stacked. Plan on Stacking all switches quoted together.

Yes you will need to mirror the current VLANS that are in place

We utilize several VLANS across our district it will be an extensive switch configuration but we are not prepared to hand over our configurations at this point

No,  this new WIFI infrastructure will end up being the sole wireless connectivity option in the district

Second walk-through questions?

Answer:
 1. If we would want all new equipment or add to additional - answer is all new

2. Why so many controllers - I think we listed 5 - we may only need 2 (we had listed one for each building),

3. Do  we need a POE+ - answer is no

4. how many firewalls - we have 2 now - but if our bond passes we will only need 1 and are happy with the firewall we have

5. What Type of connections do we have - we have fiber

6. Will the company that gets the bid install the equipment or will our IT people - answer is - the vendor that gets the bid will install
