Questions Received with Applicant Answers   ( Ask Questions? )

Do you have an address for where you are looking for DSL services?

Answer:
 Service Address:

3301 Loop 197

Texas City, TX 77590

Billing address will be:

1700 9th Ave N

Texas City, TX 77590

Greetings, We have a couple of questions: -Is this bid contemplating telephone hardware? -If no hardware is required, what is the current telco system and can it support Voip? -Would Texas City consider a HOSTED option that includes a turn key solution with hardware-service included? Thanks.

Answer:
Since telco is being phased out and we currently already have a VoIP phone system. we are only perusing the lines themselves.  We do not need additional hardware at this time.

Is a new VoIP solution needed? Hardware/Software, etc?

Answer:
Since telco is being phased out and we currently already have a VoIP Phone system. we are only perusing the lines/service themselves.  We do not need additional hardware at this time.

Is this a request for a cloud based telephony service with a dedicated T-1 connection to the provider for that service?

Answer:
No this is not for a cloud based telephony system.  We are currently using a Mitel VoIP Phone system and we are searching for lines to support this telephone system.

Can this be quoted stand alone or would we have to quote everything?

Answer:
Can what be quoted stand alone?

Can the VoIP quote request be bid stand alone?

Answer:
Yes, but please make sure you bid everything requested for VOIP, including the circuit.

can you please provide address for the VOIP service? Also would the district consider upgrading to Ethernet for Internet service instead of DSL?

Answer:
VoIP service is held at all campuses and administration building.  Primary system is at 1700 9th Ave N. Addresses for all schools is on our website at http://www.tcisd.org/, click on “schools.”

We do not need to change to Ethernet for the DSL for the single location.

Just to be clear on this. How many trunk channels? How many DIDs? Porting or New DIDs?

Answer:
 We currently have:

3 PRI
1,600 DID

two circuits to 1700 9th Ave N
one to 1431 9th Ave N.

We would port DIDs to maintain our current call information from parents.

1) If there are 3 PRI at two locations now (47 Channels at 1700 9th & 23 Channels at 1431 9th) do you still want to quote 100 Channels for this RFP? 2) If so, are the 100 VoIP SIP Trunks replacing the PRI Service? 3) Which will be the location of the new T1?

Answer:
Yes I would still like a quote for 100 channels,

We are updating the current PRI lines.  A sip line will require additional charges for data lines, we are looking to maintain the current PRI lines at this time.

We have 2 at 1700 9th Ave N.  and 1 at 1431 9th Ave N.  So we will add the second one to the 1431 9th ave N.

Would applicant consider a SIP Trunking solution to replace the existing PRI circuits?

Answer:
We are currently just looking to use PRI lines so at this time we are not looking to change from PRI to SIP. If your company can provide a cost effective bid that provides the same functionality as the PRI requests, please do so.
